Interview with the Owner of Villa De Mer in Eze

We sat down with Krisztina, the owner of Villa De Mer, to find out more about her luxurious vacation home in Eze-sur-Mer.

1.     What drew you to the South of France and why did you decide on purchasing this villa?

My husband is from Corsica and I am from Hungary. We were living between Paris and London when we decided to spend our first weekend together in Eze and we fell in love with the area. We have since been back every year for our holidays and got married between Eze and Cap Ferrat. When we moved to Hong Kong we decided that we wanted to have a home in this part of the world that we loved and particularly in Eze, which is still a true hidden gem on the Cote d’Azur. The villa was a labor of love – refurbishing an older 50s house to make it into what it is today: probably one of the most stunning modern architect designed villas in Eze and the surrounding area. Even though the villa required a lot of work, we chose to purchase it for its unique location, incredible views, privacy, size, and easy access to the sea and nearby towns including Monaco and Nice.

2.     What do you enjoy most about the location of your home?

The location offers the best views of the whole bay as well as the convenience of accessing everything one can dream of in less than fifteen to twenty minutes all while being in a safe and private area.

3.     What is your favorite space and why?

It’s impossible to choose one so I will cite three:

-the master bedroom with its huge terrace

-the living room with its panoramic sea views

-the rooftop terrace and swimming pool for gazing out over the bay

4.     What design feature or furniture piece do you love the most?

The Sicis mosaic in the master bedroom is a true masterpiece. Another design feature that our guests are impressed by is the fact that they can see inside the pool from one side of the living room while having a panoramic sea view on the other side.

5.     Why do you think your villa is such a successful holiday rental?

It is the perfect combination of aesthetics with its unique design and luxurious fittings. The views are incredible and the location is safe and private yet accessible to everything.
