We sat down with Miriam, the owner of Villa Blanche, to find out more about her luxurious vacation home in Cap d’Antibes.
1. What drew you to the South of France?
My husband and I both love the French lifestyle, their delicious cuisine as well as the coastal landscape and vegetation. Every time we arrive in Nice, at the most beautiful airport, seeing the palm trees and sea we feel instantly happy and relaxed.
2. What do you enjoy most about the location of your home?
The fact that we are on top of a little hill, walking distance to the beaches as well as to Antibes and Juan Les Pins. Further, our house is at the end of a cul-de-sac and, thus, extremely quiet.
3. What is your favorite space and why?
The tower terrace for a sundowner as it overlooks both the sea as well the hills of Super Cannes making it the perfect spot to watch the sun set past the horizon.
4. What design feature or furniture piece do you love the most?
Our yellow bubble fence, consisting of 4900 circles, which I designed and had built in Berlin. I also love the large console table in the living room which we found at an antique market at L’Isle-sur-la-Sorgue.
5. Why do you think your villa is such a successful holiday rental?
Our villa was originally built in 1925 and when we took on the full renovation we chose to combine a fresh and contemporary design while still preserving the original elements of the home such as the high ceilings, the wooden floors and cement tiles. The interiors feel very coastal and beachy due to a color palette of blues, beiges, and whites. Every bedroom has its own en-suite bathroom which provides a level of comfort that is particularly appreciated among larger groups. Further, every room has its own feel and color scheme yet they each flow seamlessly together. We also recently designed an outdoor wet bar and pergola beside the pool, making it very convenient to hang out poolside for hours.
6. Describe your home in three words.
Unique, colorful and happy
